Over 23 Years of Quality Control Consulting Excellence
A Message From the Founder of Smart Quality Control Consulting
“While working in the construction industry for over 45 years as an Architect, Quality Control Manager, and Quality Director, I've become very passionate about quality.
I'm professionally educated with numerous construction experiences with industrial, educational, commercial, healthcare, multifamily residential, parking structures, historic preservation, religious, cultural, and government and military facility construction projects.
My journey is to continue to help improve quality in the construction industry by sharing my architectural, QA/QC knowledge, and industry experience through communicating and encouraging collaboration and teamwork.
Due to the growing complexity of projects and the number of problematic issues during construction, owners, developers, contractors, and architects are looking for a means to ensure a successful quality outcome.
The building enclosure is field assembled consisting of numerous materials and components. These activities are installed by many tradespeople and contractors with minimal field coordination and supervision.
Due to this lack of coordination and supervision, SQC² directs focus on materials and their assemblies. This process far outweighs the relatively minor costs of addressing common pitfalls during design and construction.
Knowing that any system can fail, the best first line of defense against failure is proper installation and verification at the time of installation. SQC² offers a proactive quality control approach, knowing that a passive approach can become a very costly reaction later on.
A successful project hinges on a multi-disciplinary effort involving owners, design professionals, construction managers, and contractors working together collaboratively.
SQC² is a trusted, respected, and influential organization that works with each party involved in the project to help ensure that the project is constructed in compliance with the design documents, manufacturer's warranty requirements, construction industry best practices, and accepted workmanship practices.
I use my team's skills and experience to provide a service that is critical to the assembly of the building.
This gives my clients peace of mind knowing that the systems and materials compromising their building enclosure meets their requirements and result in a successful, better-built building.
Best wishes to everyone as I close with this statement: "LOL" (Listen, Observe, and Learn)”. We can all teach and Learn from each other.
